Nutz GmbH - a success story
When Manfred Nutz started Nutz GmbH in 1978 in a small garage in Aschau am Inn, he certainly did not have it in mind to found a company that would operate worldwide; rather, he wanted to contribute to security by installing alarm systems. Yet, over the years, the organization has developed into a company with over 333 employees and an annual turnover of 34 million euros, that plans, installs and maintains building technology at the highest quality. During this time, the portfolio has evolved from simple alarm systems to the areas of security, data and electrical engineering, which together culminate in building automation. Through the Professional Services department, the Nutz quality is spread from the headquarters to the whole world.
Family and human relationships have always been Manfred Nutz's most important values – still taking into consideration the high standards of quality, professionalism and constant growth. An important step in this direction was the hiring of the first apprentice Christian Gruber in 1984, who then went on to join the management team in 1994 and gradually took over significant shares in the company. In the 25 years that followed, the two entrepreneurs built the company into what nutz is today as a brand. In 2018, the company's founder retired and handed over all operational responsibility to his partner, who today, as CEO, continues to run the business in line with their shared vision and who together with his fellow managing directors Thomas Wimmer and Christian Eder, epitomizes the company’s ethos.
The initial steps in growth led to a move to Aschau Werk in 1987, with the first major contract in the field of electrical engineering and the opening of the first branch office in Thuringia after Germany’ reunification. In the meantime, nutz now operates from a total of nine locations. Seven of which are in Germany; including the headquarters in Ampfing, there are also locations in Erfurt, Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg and Rosenheim. Additionally, there are two international locations in Switzerland and the Czech Republic, in order to be able to meet demand throughout Europe.
As more and more customers were won, including technology groups, major banks, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies from Europe and the USA, and the business areas were expanded step by step, one day the company came up against a growth-limiting factor: the premises in Aschau Werk. There was no more room for development and expansion. The solution was to move again in 2019 to the new building in Ampfing. Three times as much space and better accessibility thanks to the motorway connection, act as an invigorating and boosting feature to fuel the company's further development.
The future management of the company has also already been ensured. Both entrepreneurs’ children have already joined the family business and have since been introduced to their respective responsibilities. In the spirit of the two partners, they too will lead the company to further growth with foresight and a great deal of humanity, and possibly exceed their own expectations.
